New CEO at Prairie Energy
Tim Marienau has accepted a position as CEO at Prairie Energy Cooperative.
Tim has been a part of the REC world since June of 2014, when he started working with Clarke Electric Cooperative in Osceola. Prior to Clarke, he worked with Iowa Homeland Security & Emergency Management for five years helping the REC's in Iowa during Presidential Disasters under the FEMA public assistance programs.
Tim is originally from Altoona where he attended Southeast Polk. He then ventured onto Ames where he received his BA & MS degrees from Iowa State University. He and his wife of 25 years, Tami, have three kids: Travis, Tara, and Traci. They have two granddaughters, Eva and Rory. Some of Tim's hobbies include continuously BBQ'n and smoking meats, carpentry work, spending summers at Lake Cornelia, and keeping up with his favorite sports teams watching the Royals, Packers, NASCAR, and Cyclone Nation.
When asked why he wanted to work at Prairie Energy Cooperative, Tim replied: "For almost 8.5 years, I have been a part of the Iowa REC arena. REC’s are like family. You grow together and you struggle together but at the end of the day you are one. REC employees are dedicated to serving and helping the members and within the cooperative. I have lived in Iowa all of my life. For the past 25 years, we live in Roland and have property at Lake Cornelia. Therefore, Prairie Energy is close to home for me. I have been a part of the Clarion-Lake Cornelia area for almost 25 years. For that reason, I want to bring my experiences and knowledge to the PEC family so that it can become a great place for the membership, directors and all of the employees learn, work together and grow."
Welcome to the Prairie Energy Co-op team!
